Jordan Kilpatrick Therapy / The Brotherhood

Some things do not stay in the past.

We don't want to admit something’s wrong… and we'd rather handle it ourselves.

They show up in your body, your relationship, your sleep — and in moments when you wish they wouldn't.

This is often what it looks like:

Where you are now

Where you want to be

✕You shut down or lose your temper — and you hate that it keeps happening.
→Stay calm, especially when it matters most.
✕You rely on bad habits to cope, and they're starting to make a mess of things.
→Act like someone you
respect.
✕Your relationship feels tense or unstable, and you're not sure how to fix it.
→Have a relationship that actually feels good to be in.

The Brotherhood Difference

Insight alone doesn't
change behaviour.

You can understand the problem and still react the same way.

We focus on understanding what's happening — then taking action to change it.

We help you change what you do, not just talk about it.

This often looks like:

Where you are now

Where you want to be

✕ Certain memories still hit hard - even when you know they are over.
→ Feel steady when the past gets triggered.
✕ Your body reacts before you can think - tension, panic, anger, or shutting down.
→ Have more control in the moment.
✕ You keep trying to push it down, but it keeps coming back sideways.
→ Stop carrying it into the life you are trying to build.

The Brotherhood Difference

EMDR is not about
forcing yourself to forget.

It is about helping your brain and body process what still feels unfinished.

At The Brotherhood, you won't be asked to dive into the worst of it on day one, or to re-tell the whole story in detail. First we'll help you feel steady, and you set the pace from there.

If EMDR is the right fit, we use it as part of a focused plan. If something else would serve you better, we tell you that too.

If the past is still showing up in your present, start with a free consult.

Why insight alone doesn’t lead to change

Most therapy helps you understand your problems.

We focus on solving them by focusing on action:

What you say. What you do. And how to handle it differently next time.

In 2019, my relationship blew up when I found out my partner was cheating on me.

Truthfully, this hit me like a truck.

Rage. Shame. Grief. A crushing fear that I’d never trust anyone again.

I had no idea what to do with any of it.

So, I did what most guys do. I bottled it up and numbed it out.

Gaming.

Weed.

Porn.

Alcohol.

Anything to escape.

But these were the things had been messing up my relationship in the first place.

I needed real answers. A way to pull myself out of this mess for good.

So I searched - books, podcasts, therapy, anything that would help me get my shit together...

... and I kept coming up empty.

Nothing clicked. Nothing felt like a full solution.

On the brink of giving up, I looked in the one place I never wanted to go.

My own feelings.

Turns out, that's right where the solution was.

Better yet, I also accidentally found simple, step-by-step solutions that actually dealt with them!

For the first time, the constant anger and worries faded. The bad habits disappeared. And I finally could show up like a real man in my relationships.

I finally felt clear, confident, and in control.

Over the next few years, I mastered my emotions, created my dream relationship with my now-wife, and spend my days as a psychotherapist helping other men.

I love getting to share what I've learned with other men and watch them completely transform their lives too.

If you're looking for change, click the button to apply, and let's help you become the man you know you can be.

Trauma. That dirty word that clings to so many.

Childhood experiences early in life left me scared, angry, and unable to process emotions in a healthy way.

The pain increased, and by the age of 16 I was dropped out of school and relying on escapism through video games, which escalated to alcohol and drug abuse.

... Loneliness,

Confusion,

Fear,

Hurt,

All ran my life.

Handfuls of medications left me numb, secluded, and sedentary. Unable to find energy to even get out of bed, weight gain of over 140 lbs followed.

Contemplation of suicide not only became a plan, but a goal.

One final attempt at finding myself followed, and I took the step to talk to a counsellor about my pain.

That single connection turned out to be life changing.

I was encouraged to connect with my emotions, my community, and myself again.

I’m now able to be the man, father, and partner that I want to be, and have the honour of working with other men to help them accomplish the same.

If you are looking for real change, fill out the application form and I look forward to meeting you!

How is Therapy For Men Different?

It's about getting you results, not keeping you stuck in therapy forever.

Measured progress, not endless talking about feelings

Every session is goal-focused and action-based. No talking about feelings endlessly — we measure progress and make change happen.

Breakthroughs, not clock-watching

Our sessions run 60 minutes (vs. the standard 50), giving you the extra time needed for real depth and results.

We actually take the time to listen

Applicants get a full 30-minute free consult (vs. the usual rushed 10–15) so we can see if we’re the right fit.

No waiting around

We cap our caseloads so there’s no waitlist. When you start, you start right away with consistent sessions.

You won’t be stuck here forever

Our goal is to help you get results and move on without us as fast as possible.

Guided by men who’ve done the work

All-male team. Only 1 in 10 therapists are men, and we hand-pick those who walk the walk, not just talk theory.

Have More Questions? We've Got Answers!

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are $185/hr.

Is this private and confidential?

Yes, absolutely!

By law, all psychotherapy and social work must be performed with strict confidentiality, the same you'd expect from your family doctor.

Every part of your experience is optimized to be privacy-first, upholding the high-standards of PHIPA and PIPEDA.

You will also NOT be judged here - we're a team of specialized professionals to help you with sensitive matters, not judge you for them.

Where are you located / where do you service?

We are primarily an online company and service all of Ontario with online sessions!

In-person therapy services are offered on a case-by-case basis and are not always available depending on therapist availability.

Unsure about trying online therapy?

All good, this is common! There's an idea that therapy has to be in-person to be effective, but both the research and our client's experiences tell us this is not true!

We hear all the time from our clients that they're very happy they tried online therapy -- they actually prefer the convenience it provides, the time it saves, and they still feel fully connected and supported.

Pro tip: Many guys who don't have a private space in their houses will do sessions from their cars instead (and some even drive to a nice private spot that feels comfortable for them)!

Will my sessions be covered by insurance?

In most cases, yes. Many insurance plans cover psychotherapy or social work services but it’s recommended to check with your insurance provider to determine your coverage.

We have both psychotherapists and social workers on our team, so whichever you have coverage for, we can provide.

We will always provide you with receipts after sessions so your insurance company can reimburse you.

--

Note that OHIP does not cover Psychotherapy or Social Work services. However, counselling with a Registered Psychotherapist or Social Worker is tax-deductible (yay!).

If you're unsure how insurance works, ask us in your consult and we’ll help you navigate this!

How long will it take for me to feel better/get results?

Many of our clients notice positive changes after just a few sessions. Our goal is to give you tools you can use right away to start feeling calm and in control.

What will I get from sessions?

Every session you will leave with actionable steps and homework so you make progress 7 days a week!

What happens during the free consult?

We’ll chat about what’s been challenging for you, how you’d like to feel, and whether our approach is the right fit for your goals. No pressure, no obligations :)

Do I need to have past experience with therapy?

Not at all!

Whether this is your first time or you’ve tried therapy before, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you through the process.

Do I need to commit to a certain number of sessions?

Not at all. We’ll work together at your pace, and you can decide how many sessions you’d like to book.

Some people find a few sessions are enough, while others prefer ongoing support.

How is your approach different?

I focus on actionable steps and proven tools to help you feel better fast, rather than just talking about problems. You’ll leave each session with something practical you can use in real life.

What types of issues do you specialize in?

I specialize in helping people manage difficult emotions. This often takes the form of stress, anxiety, worry, overthinking, anger, and self-confidence / low self-esteem.

What types of therapy do you practice?

Short answer: DBT, MBCT, ACT, MCT, Narrative Therapy, SFBT, Existential Therapy

Long answer: (Jargon warning, nerds only!)

I integrate many therapeutic modalities with own experiences. I first seek the truth through experience, then I match and combine my findings with researched methodologies, rather than blindly following what other people say should work.

We've got to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

The modalities I primarily follow are generally categorized as third-wave cognitive therapies: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Existential Therapy.

I also generally am quite educational and philosophical, while heavily focused on action. Where applicable, I teach my 6-step system for managing tough emotions without medications, called Emotion Hacking.

What if I don’t feel comfortable sharing everything right away?

That’s totally fine. We’ll go at your pace, and you’re always in control of what we talk about.

What if I don’t know where to start?

That’s completely normal! Many people feel unsure about what to say at first.

It’s my job to guide the conversation so we can uncover what’s really going on and how to address it.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t work?

That’s okay! Every therapist and approach is different and it's important you find the right fit.

My style is action-oriented and focused on real-world tools, so you’ll leave each session with practical steps you can use to feel better fast.

If that sounds like it might even MAYBE be a fit, book your consult today and let's find out!
